Discovered this baby (I think it's a baby..) snake this morning. It was "waiting" just outside my front door. Later captured it in a bottle, then got it released (I just couldn't kill it... just couldn't...) in bushes (really, really) far from civilization.

Bottles kept it safe from me...

"Mee Hoon Palak"

This is the RM5 "Mee Hoon Palak" I had for lunch today. Mee Hoon is Malay (or chinese?) for bean vermicelli, while "Palak" in Bahasa Melayu Sarawak means head. It's actually a mix of some vegetables (sayur asin, terung asam, ginger..) and fish, served in an 8 inch bowl. But I didn't find any "palak" in the mixture so I was wondering where the name "mee hoon palak" came from. Hmmm... oh, and it tastes great! The shop is located behind Miri Square (can't remember the shop's name).

Poor (smelly) dog.

A poor (smelly) stray dog got tangled in a soccer post's net in a soccer field near my school this morning. A soccer match was about to begin so it had to be released right away. I tried to help a bit but unfortunately the dog was too smelly to get close to. Then some guys along with the match's referee released the dog. I wonder how long has it been there..

Year 6 Motivation Programme (Phase 1)

Our school's counseling unit organized a camp for year six pupils at Pustaka Miri today. Started at 7 am and ended at 5 pm. I was there (from 2 pm) and the whole thing was boring. Luckily I brought along my PSP so I played some games while waiting for the camp to end. My job was to take pictures throughout the camp.

Malaysia's Top 5 (Urban Primary School Category)

Our school is "supposed" to have been chosen as the top five nominees for the "Anugerah Sekolah Cemerlang peringkat Kebangsaan". I'm saying "supposed" because I haven't seen any official letter or document supporting the claim other than from our headmaster's every so often announcements. Personally, I'm not proud about the nomination at all because, well, there isn't much to be proud of. Our school (to me) still lacks lots of facilities/utilities. Also, I haven't done much for the school since I was posted here so if there's anything great about our school (is there??), it's not from me. I don't want credit for something not done by me.(Yeah right.. Rumour has it that there's an RM500 bonus (each) for the teachers of the winning (champion) school. If it's true (and we get to be the champ), erm.... I can tell you the awe-inspiring story of how I single-handedly created the first and greatest ever school website blah blah whatever.... hehe)

New improved (but still ugly) name tag.

All the teachers at our school today received our new name tag. I don't really like the design but the quality (of the material used) is excellent. But we had to pay quite an unreasonable price for it though. Something's wrong there, someone's doing something bad... Luckily the "Kelab Kebajikan Guru" covered the expenses for us. But it's still our own money though...

My Second Music Instrument

Yup, it's a guitar. Just bought it yesterday. I wonder if I can still play it like before. I wasn't really good at it but I knew some of the basics. I actually owned one a long time ago (in secondary school) as a gift from my father (for I don't remember what...). My finger tips will definitely hurt again... Oh well, no pain no gain..
By the way, my first music instrument is a keyboard I got a few years ago. It's still upstairs effectively collecting dust.

I just arrived from SMK Riam (which is a few minutes walk from home) a few minutes ago. I went there (by foot) to sit for my PTK test. I don't really care much about the test but chances are I might pass and get a raise!(pay raise) So let's pray for me.... heheeee....

I finally got to meet the guy who's responsible for last Saturday's accident. He's a middle aged guy who looks innocent but hmmm... I doubt it.. According to his report, it was his "friend" who drove his car that night. It's just that he doesn't seem very angry to this "friend" of his because whenever I try to mention about his "friend's" mistake (fleeing the "crime" scene etc.), he just kept quiet.
Anyway, the case is now settled. The repairs on my car will be paid by the offender's insurance company. I just hope that my car will get fixed before school re-opens...

Gotcha!

The police finally found the culprit (whose car rammed into mine a few days ago..). I am required to get to the traffic police hq right away. Gotta go now.

Bad news from the police.

The person whose car hit mine hasn't been found yet. The police officer told me yesterday that they actually went to the offenders house but found out that another family was living there. So now they will continue their investigation and I can only wait. Heck. Who's gonna pay for the repair?? My car is now at a workshop.. waiting.. like me.. (miss u sang kancil..)

Hit n Run Part II

I just became a victim of hit and run. The tragedy occured at about 1.20am today at Jalan Bintang Traffic Light Junction (near Petronas Filling Station). I stopped my car for the red lights and then after a few seconds another car suddenly rammed my car from behind. "The other car" (let's just leave it anonymous...) then just quickly took off but I managed to get it's registration number. I lodged a police report right away. Besides the rear end of my car, everything else is fine.

Another week??

Went to Toysworld again today. No, not to buy toys but to collect my Toysworld/Belle's Bookshop membership card. When I got there and claimed the card, the employee (cashier? worker? whatever...) told me that the card is still not yet available for collection, and that I have to wait for another week. Heck. The exact same person told me two weeks ago to come and collect the card in two weeks. Now after exactly two weeks I am asked to come again after another week. Hmmmm.... fine.. what's the rush anyway ;-P .. Let's see what's going to happen next week.. To be continued....

Poor gecko.

These are pictures of a poor gecko which panicked and dropped into the bowl of my home's toilet last night. It managed to climb up the slippery surface (kudos to all geckos around the globe)but hid in the wrong place (awwwww...). And then I ("mournfully") flushed the toilet. They're actually pictures I captured from the video I took during the "unfortunate" event. Farewell little friend. (no,I still don't like'em..)

I love free stuff.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I bought a magazine that came together with some free items. It's a chinese basketball mag called "XXL". I didn't read the contents coz I can't really read chinese (I can only recognize some simple characters). I also grabbed a copy of March's issue of "eRing" magazine. This one's a mobile phone info mag. Compared to the other mag I bought last month (Mobile World), this magazine is a lot better. The best thing is that some informations/articles I find in it can't even be obtained on the internet. Great mag.

I was out in the city today. I went to Boulevard and then to Bintang Plaza a.k.a Parkson. First is Boulevard. Lot's of people but parking space is still not so hard to find. But Bintang Plaza... hmmmmm... circled the area 5 times and ended up parking behind Petronas filling station (about 200+ meters from the building...I guess..) and walked. And now I'm still wondering why on earth didn't I try to park in the building's basement?? I hate it whenever I have to waste lot's of time finding parking just to buy something I can't find somewhere else...

MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. Ka Part III

The Gundam Unicorn is finally complete. Well, not actually 100% (decals not applied yet..) but it's close enough. It took me quite long to finish this kit because I didn't have much time to spend on it until today.

Just came back from Miri bus terminal. My dad is now on his way back to Kuching. I hope he will have a pleasant journey and arrive in Lundu safely. The journey usually takes about 12-13 hours so he should arrive in Kuching at about 7-8am tomorrow. Bye bye bapak...
